Our History
The Valdosta Country Club was organized in 1917 with Abial Winn as the first president.

The original clubhouse burned in 1958 and the new clubhouse was opened in December 1959. In 1968, 238 acres of the civil war property, Cherokee Plantation was acquired for future expansion. In 1977 Joe Lee designed the Plantation and Bottom Nines as well as the residential development.

In October of 1987 the construction of the Bellemeade Nine was started with Bobby Weed as the architect and completed on July 4, 1988.

On July 4,1990 our beautifully appointed and designed sports complex and Plantation Grill opened.

In 1995, the clubhouse was completely renovated. In 1997, the plantation and bottom nines were rebuilt. The clubhouse includes a full service lounge, dining rooms, banquet room, and special meeting rooms.

The Valdosta Country Club has been the recreational and social center of the Valdosta area for years. The Club takes great pride in hosting the 1999 NCAA II Golf Tournament and the 1999 USA Senior Tour.

Today
Valdosta Country Club is a family oriented private club conveniently located in the city limits of Valdosta. We offer a challenging 27 hole golf course co-designed by Joe Lee and Bobby Weed, driving range, two practice greens, eight tennis courts, of which four are clay courts, state of the art fitness center, Olympic-size swimming pool, baby pool and snack bar.

The Clubhouse Dining Rooms and Plantation Grill are available for breakfast, lunch, dinner, special member events, weddings, receptions, and private functions. Throughout the year members enjoy popular family oriented and social traditions such as Sunday Brunch, theme parties and holiday events.

Directions from I-75:
Take exit 22 and go East on North Valdosta Road. Go to the fourth set of traffic lights and turn left onto Country Club Drive. The road dead ends into Valdosta Country Club, turn left onto Country Club Road and the club entrance is on the right.
